The state of Maryland reports that over 6,000 people acquire brain injuries each year. Every day, 13 people are hospitalized due to the severity of these injuries.
We all have the opportunity to help their progress. From returning soldiers, vicious attacks such as that on Congresswoman Giffords, to sports-oriented concussions and mild brain injury—all illustrate an on-going need to support those with brain injury.
For many people with brain injury, their recovery depends on many factors, one of which is the acceptance of their communities and re-entry into the work force.
